After bringing together Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock for the successful, but still formulaic romantic comedyThe Proposal, director Anne Fletcher is looking at another familiar heartthrob for a new holiday family comedy called The Fight Before Christmas. The filmmaker just recently became attached to the film from Shawn Levy's 21 Laps production banner, and now casting is really taking off with an offer out to Bradley Cooper to take the lead male role in the film. At this point the logline for the story is being kept under tight wraps, but I'm guessing a family starts having some big issues before December 25th arrives.
Funnily enough, Variety points out this won't be the first time Fletcher has worked with Levy, as the director and producer actually has a more extensive background in Hollywood as a choreographer, and she had that position on the set of Real Steel (likely for the dance sequences between Max and Atom). The project is not yet greenlit, but with a name like Fletcher attached to direct after the success of The Proposal and casting potentially kicking off with Cooper, it shouldn't be too hard to get off the ground. Due Date scribe Adam Sztykiel is behind the script, so it'd be nice if we got a similar R-rated comedy for the holidays.
